About Achieving Good Communications
In 2023, after 15 years of directing in-house nonprofit communications, I was laid off. I saw that as a sign to create Achieving Good Communications Company. Achieving Good isn’t just about good communications, but creating good in the world.
From branding to strategy and messaging development to publicity and relationship building plus securing awards and speaking opportunities, Achieving Good partners with clients to define and achieve their goals.
About 90% of my clients are nonprofits, furthering important causes like: reducing intergenerational poverty; increasing health equity; and furthering economic mobility.
Achieving Good also supports women-owned and veteran-owned businesses, and entrepreneurs of color. And food-related clients through our family business, 2StreetSammies.
About Our Founder
I have 20+ years of experience in marketing and communications, predominantly for nonprofit organizations like Brooklyn Public Library and Philabundance – a Feeding America Food Bank – as well as digital marketing for Barnes & Noble.com and AOL.
My mother was an English teacher and my grandmother was a puzzle addict so words are in my DNA. I first wanted to be a copywriter, and pursued my love of writing by freelancing for publications such as Philly Family, Mommy Nearest, Time Out NY, NonProfit Pro, and amNY.
My experience led me to nonprofit work in 2005. Since then, I have also undertaken board service and done pro bono consulting for nonprofits in whose missions I believe, including the Philadelphia Free Library, Grovider, Sonas to America, and Women’s Way.
I attended Muhlenberg College and Central High School (251). I’m living my dream in Philly with my husband, daughter, and two dogs.
